This guide will show you a very easy way for children to make Japanese style paper fans

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
24 inches X 6 inches piece of paper - plain or wrapping paper
1 inch X 7 inches strip of paper
Paper glue
Colors if you want to decorate plain paper

In this guide a piece of wrapping paper is used.
If you are using plain paper you can decorate it with crayon or colored pencils.

Turn the paper so that the short edges are at the top and bottom.
Make a fold about ¾ inch

Continue folding the paper accordion style until you get to the top

Align the small strip of paper with the side and bottom of the folded paper
Glue it in place

Wrap the strip around the bottom of the folded paper and glue the end closed

Pull down the ends of the folded paper.
