How to make a key for a wind up doll costume

This guide will show you how to make a key to put on your back for a wind up doll costume.

Difficulty level: Advanced

Instructions:

Materials:
Cardboard
Circular object about 4 ½ inches in diameter
Small drinking glass
Toilet paper roll
glue
Scissors
Ruler
Pen

Trace the outline of the 4 ½ inch circular object on the top right side of the cardboard

Trace the circle another time the same height as the first but with a 2 ½ inch space between them

Trace the curve of the circular object between the 2 circles about 1/3 of the way down

Mark the halfway point between the circles

Draw a vertical line from the mark to the bottom of the cardboard

Mark 2 inches on both sides going down the line

Draw 2 lines along the marks

Place the circular object below the drawn circles.
Trace the curve of the circular where it meets the top circle and the outer line on both sides

Trace the glass in the center of both circles
The drawing of the key is finished.
Cut it out along the outer lines of the key

Stab a hole in the center the inner circles and cut them out along the lines

Result

Slide the straight edge of the key through the toilet paper roll

Use the large circular object to trace another circle on cardboard and cut it out

Stand the key up and trace the outline of the straight edge in the center of the circle you just cut

Make a slit inside the lines you traced and put the straight edge of the key through it

Fold the edge and glue it in place

You can glue the key to your costume or use a pointed screw to make 2 holes on each side to stitch it on.

You can paint the key or cover it with silver foil
