How to make coasters or hot pads from corrugated cardboard

This guide will show you a creative way to recycle corrugated cardboard boxes into coasters or hot pads.

Difficulty level: Advanced

Instructions:

Materials:
Corrugated cardboard boxes
Large clothespin
White glue
Utility knife
Ruler
Cutting board
Paintbrush or round stick
Rubber band

Cut the corrugated cardboard into 14 strips ¾ “ by 12".
.
Twirl them around the paintbrush or round stick to soften them

Coat one side of a strip with glue and roll it up tightly. Hold it together with the clothespin until the glue is dry.

Do this for 10 strips of coardboard

Glue another strip of cardboard around one of the rolls you just made.
Hold it in place with a rubber band until the glue dries.

Remove the rubber band.

Put a coat of glue on the outside of the large circle you just made. Coat the smaller circles on one side.

Arrange the small circles around the bigger one and hold them in place with a rubber band until the glue dries.

Remove the rubberband.

Squeeze the circle on the outside with both hands until it becomes smaller and the circles squash together.

Coat a strip of cardboard with glue on one side and tightly circle the coaster until the ends meet. Use a rubber band to hold it in place until dry.

Remove the rubber band and your coaster is finished!
