How to draw a 6 petal flower of any size

This guide will show you how easy it is to draw perfect 6 petal flowers without special tools. You can make giant ones from large pieces of paper or cardboard for party decorations or smaller paper flowers to decorate pictures, cards or objects.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Paper or cardboard
Cardboard box top for smaller flowers
Pen
Scissors
2 pins or 2 pointed nails

Put 2 pins in a strip of paper at a distance you want the length of the petals.

A strip of cardboard and thin pointed nails can be used for large petals

Place your paper on a cardboard box top

Remove one pin from the strip
Push the pin that is on the strip through the center of the paper

If you are making large flowers from thick cardboard you do not need the box cover. Just push the pin through the center of the cardboard.

Put the point of the pen through the hole and rotate the strip to draw a circle

Remove the pen and push a pin through the hole

Remove the pin in the center

Put the point of the pen in the hole and rotate the strip to make another circle

Remove the strip and push a pin in where the circles touch

Remove the pin

Put the pin in one of the holes on the strip and through the hole you just made on the paper.
Put the pen point in the second hole and rotate it to draw another circle.

Push a pin in where the circle you just made touches the first circle.

Remove the pin

Again put the pin in one of the holes on the strip and through the hole you just made on the paper.
Put the pen point in the second hole and rotate it to draw another circle.

Repeat the step 8 and 9 until you have made 6 circles all around the center circle.

Result

Cut out the areas colored in black

Result

You can cut out the area around the center petal shapes for a thin flower or stamen.
(cut out the area colored in black)

Result

You can use the cut out flower as a template to make as many as you need.

If you want to make a circle that covers all of the flower but not the petals, use the same strip to make the circle

To make a smaller circle, make another hole between the 2 that are already on the strip and use it to stick the pen point through.

Here are some examples of the flowers with the circles glue to the center.

You can make flowers of different sizes and place them on top of each other with the largest one on the bottom and smallest on top.
