How to make pretty paper flowers from circles

These paper flowers are easy enough for children to make. They are nice for decorations and can be used instead of a bow on a present.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Circular objects to trace outlines
Bottle cap
Colored paper for the petals
White paper for the stamen
Yellow paper for the center
Scissors
Paper glue
Pen or pencil

Trace the outlines of 6 circular objects. They should be gradually smaller in size.
Cut out the circles.

Trace the bottle cap on yellow paper and cut out the circle

Result

Do step 5 to 10 on all the circles except the yellow circle that was traced from the bottle cap.

Fold the circles in half. Unfold
Fold the circles in half in the opposite direction.

Fold the straight edges to the center crease

Result
Fold it in half backwards along the crease

Rotate the folded paper so that the point is on the bottom.
Cut around the top to round it out.

Unfold
Cut slits along the creases about ¾ of the way to the center

Fold each of the petals in half lengthwise

Result
Each will be a petal layer

Take a strip of white paper about ¾ as wide as the bottle cap.
Cut 8 pieces. *The should be no wider than the petals of the smallest flower. See the picture in step 14 for reference.

Fold the pieces in half lengthwise.
Cut at an angle on both sides of the top.

Unfold and you will have 2 points.

Put a little glue on the center of the yellow circle.
Place the circle in the center of the smallest petal layer and stick the white papers under it.
The creases of the petal and the white paper should be aligned.

Put glue on the center of the next smallest petal layer.
Place the petal layer, with the circle, on top of it. Rotate the petals so that they are between the ones below.

Put glue on the center of the next smallest petal layer and place the layered flower on top with the petals in between

Repeat step 16 until you have glued all the petal layers.
Your flower decoration is ready!
