How to make an easy flower garland

This cute garland is easy enough for children to make and good for holiday or party decorations. You can make it with junk mail or scrap paper.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Colorful scrap paper
drinking glass, coffee cup or similar circular object
bottle cap or similar small circular object
Scissors
Paper glue
Pen or pencil
String for hanging the garland

Choose the colored papers you want for the petals.
Use the coffee cup or glass to trace circles on the paper

Choose the papers you want for the centers of the flowers.
Trace circles around a bottle cap or similar small round object

Cut out the circles.

Fold the large circle in half.
Unfold

Rotate the circle and align the crease you just made to fold it in half again

Fold the straight edges on top down to the center crease

Result

Unfold.
Cut slits on each crease about ½ way down.

Make a small fold on all the left corners at the slits

Glue the small circle to the center

Cut strips of left over paper about 3 inches long and 1/4 inch wide

Glue the ends together to make a loop

Glue the bottom of the looped strips to the back of the flowers

Slip string through the loops, knot in place and your decoration is ready.
