materials:

6 square pieces of paper of equal size
2 square pieces of scrap paper of the same size
Scissors
pen

Take one scrap square and fold it in half diagonally
In both directions
Unfold

Fold the square horizontally unfold
Then fold it vertically and unfold
Repeat step 2 and 3 for the second scrap square

Carefully align the squares as shown in picture
If you pick up the top square and fold it in half in each direction along the crease it will make it easier to adjust the alignment

Use a pen to mark the straight edge from the center crease mark to the right side on each of the 4 triangles formed on the bottom paper

Cut slits using the lines you just made
Make sure the cut comes to the center crease

This will be your template
Place it on top of each of the 6 squares and cut slits

Take 2 square and insert the slits into one another
You will have to flip one of the squares to the other side for the slit to come in the opposite direction to insert it

Insert the 6 squares as shown in the picture.

Bring the sides over to the closest matching slit
A small triangle will form between the squares
