You will need:
An old frame
Scissors
Knife or pliers
Masking tape
Decorative paper or material
Artwork
Pencil

Place the frame face down.
Pull off all the tape.

Lift up the staples or nails holding the cardboard backing. Do not remove them. Lift or rotate them just enough to slide everything out of the frame.

Lift out the cardboard, artwork, mat if there is one, and the glass.

If there is a mat and it is dirty or you just want to change the color:

Cut a piece of paper or material big enough to fold over all the outer edges.

Place the paper or material face down.
Place the mat face down centered on top of it.
Make a dot on the paper or material at each corner of the window of the mat.

Remove the paper.
Stab a hole approximately at the center and make a cut from the center to each dot.
Do not cut past the dots.

Place the paper or material facedown.
Place the mat on top of it.
Make sure the ends of the cuts match up to the corners of the window of the mat.

Pull the triangle tops snugly up and over the window of the mat and tape them in place.

Turn the mat over to check if there are no wrinkles and it is aligned.
Adjust if needed

Pull all the sides up snugly over the outer edges of the mat and tape them in place.

Turn it over and check if it is smooth.
Adjust if needed

Slide the glass into the frame.
If you have a mat slide it face down on top of the glass.
Place your artwork facedown and tape it in place.

Turn the frame over and check if the placement of the art needs adjusting.

Slide the cardboard in on top of the artwork.
Push the stables or nails back over the cardboard and tape it in place.

That’s it!
Easy enough to change your artwork or decorations as often as you feel like.
