This guide will show you how to fold the units for the origami pagoda. Have fun!

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Paper squares of equal size.

Fold the square paper in half horizontally and unfold
Fold it in half vertically and unfold

Flip the paper over to the back side with the points at the top, bottom and sides.

Bring the 2 side points together to fold it in half. Unfold
Bring the top and bottom points together to fold it in half. Unfold

Flip the paper over again

Pinch and squeeze all the diagonally folds.
Continue squeezing them until the other folds go inward

Squash it down flat

Fold the 2 bottom points up to the top point

Result

Flip the paper over to the back side and repeat

Fold the top points straight down to the bottom point, crease sharply and unfold them

Slick you finger between the layers of one of the flaps and press down

Press the top to flatten it

Repeat on the other flap.

Flip the paper over to the back and repeat steps 8 to 10

Fold the left bottom point of a square to the top right point

Result

Repeat on the left square

Flip the paper over to the back and repeat

Fold the right layer over to the left as if you were turning a page in a book

Fold the left edge to the center crease.

Bring the left side to the right as if you were folding a page in a book

Result

Repeat steps 13 and 14 on the left side
Flip the paper over to the back and repeat steps 13 and 14

Result

Pull the inside top points of the flaps outwards

Bring the bottom middle point up
You may have to stick your finger into the corners to help it.

Press it flat

Result

Make a few more and you can start building your tower

Slide the folded edges of bottom flaps under the top flaps - starting from the top point of a second unit

Continue adding as many units you want to make a tower.
