How to make circle art from junk mail

Junk mail is a great source for colored paper. This guide will show you how to create artwork with it using a hole puncher and a glue stick.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Junk mail
Hole puncher
Paper glue stick
Ruler and pen
Square paper for the background
Scrap paper the same size

Mark 1/3 of the way from both sides of the scrap paper

Use the marks to draw 2 straight lines

Rotate the paper and repeat steps 2 and 3.

Result

Make a line from each corner of each square

Make a dot at the center of each X

Punch a hole with the pen point through each of the dots

Align the scrap paper on top of the background paper.
Put the pen point through the hole to mark the 9 dots underneath.

Gather your junk mail and punch lots and lots of dots.
It will be easier if you keep the same colors together.

Glue a punched circle onto each dot on the paper

Glue dots around the center dots

Glue another row of dots around each circle

Continue gluing rows of dots around each of the circles

Do as many rows and combinations of color that you like.
