How to make origami lucky stars

These tiny stars are quick and easy to make. They can be used to fill up jars, necklaces, bracelets, earrings or just decorations. Some find making them addictive.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

To make lucky stars you will need strips of paper
½ inch wide by 11 inches long

Larger or small stars can be made the ratio is about 1 to 13
You may need to add more to the length for thicker strips.

Bring the end up over the strip

and back through the loop

Pull

Gently pull as far as it will go without folding the end

Flatten the knot.

Rip off the end along the edge.

Hold the long end with the knot on top and the side you want the color to be in the back

Bring the strip up to the right along the edge
The left side of the strip should touch the right side of the top point

Fold over the back along the left top edge

Bring the strip up along the bottom right edge

Continue bringing the strip around the pentagon alternating the pivot at the left and right sides
The picture shows the back side

You will begin to feel it happen naturally without much thought

When you get to the end of the strip, if needed, cut or rip it so that it is short enough to insert into the layer underneath without showing from out the side

Insert the end into the layer below it

Result
The wrapping part is done

Hold the pentagon shape with your thumb at the flat bottom and your pointer finger at the point opposite it. Use the flat edge of a spoon or your finger nail to push in the side

Continue pushing in all the sides

Your lucky star is done
