Not everyone can afford a hybrid car to save fuel. You can still be a little more green. The way you drive and correct way you take car of your car can reduce the amount of fuel you use and expenses.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Carpool if you can.

Try to do different errands on the same trip instead of going back and forth each time.

Plan your route before a trip. Knowing how to get to your destination can save you fuel and travel time.

Idling your car will use gas unnecessarily. Turn off your car if you are waiting.

When the light turns green there is no need to press the pedal to the floor. Excessive acceleration wastes fuel.

Keep you tires properly inflated according to the manufacturer.

Remove excess weight from the car and trunk.

Tips

Open the windows if that is what your prefer. You can allow yourself to be comfortable with air conditioning in the hot weather. Not much gas is saved either way.
