How to make gorgeous paper roses

This guide will show you how to use a CD, a tuna can and a bead to sculpt rose petals and create gorgeous paper roses. You can make one to put on top of your gift instead of a bow or make many for a beautiful bouquet.

Difficulty level: Beginners

Instructions:

Materials:
Paper – not too thin
CD
Empty tuna can – clean and dry
Medium sized bead or object with a smooth thin round edge
White glue
Tooth pick
Scissors

Cut a piece of scrap paper into 2 squares.
One square 1 ¼ inch and the second square 1 ¾ inches

Fold them in half and cut out half heart shapes as shown in the picture.

Use these heart shapes as templates to cut out
10 large hearts and 7 small hearts

Place the CD on top of the open end of the tuna can

Put a petal over the hole.

Press the bead lightly and make circular motions.
The paper will begin to soften and make a cup shape.

It is easier to hold a bead that is on a necklace or string.

Result.
Repeat on all of the heart shapes you cut out.

Pinch the straight bottom of the petal.
Roll the round tops backwards.

Repeat on all the petals

Cut a 1 ¾ inch square of green paper

1 fold it in half
2 fold it in half again
3 fold it in half one more time
4 cut a tear drop shape at the top

Open the paper and place it over the hole in the CD

Roll the bead around the center.
One of the sides will go inward

Press the inward fold together at the crease and to the side.
Glue it down.

Place the green paper on the hole of the CD

Pinch the bottom of one of the large petals and put glue on the bottom.
Glue it to the green paper with the curled edge on the top and curling outwards.

Pinch and glue a second large petal halfway over the first.
